Have you ever watched Mrs. Doubtfire? Within the movie is a famous line of Helllloooo.. I work with the gal that has perfected that line, a ray of sunshine in an ever dreary windy city with long winters.

Smart, intelligent and traveled from Chicago to Boston to Philly to Toyko.  But she surely can’t sing, but don’t let on, it is pretty entertaining. 

I did Saucy Sammy for Di - thanks for being in my life! You are a ray of Cabo San Lucas Sunshine!

When you think of Sammy Hagar, we immediately think of Van Halen, but above and beyond the rock god persona, we have an intelligent business man.  Launching Cabo Wabo tequilla and a restaurant downtown Cabo.  Taking an idea and bringing forth an entrepreneur was apparently not first on his mind. Here is a man who just wanted to have fun.

Somewhere pleasurable he could drink tequilla and play his ever loved music We truly can achieve our dreams and let our imagination run wild, if we are willing to take that first step.  Hagar had the money to back him, being a work of rock art all unto himslef, but there is a lesson to be learned by all.

This sketch was done on an 9 x 12 Impression Sketch Pad, strictly done in charcoal with detailed smudging with a tortillion, I achieved Sammy’s raw behavior and attidute behind the guitarist.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Street Survivors Pencil Sketch Drawing

February 2007, Chicago fan’s flew flags, and prepared for a long anticpated Superbowl.   Party preparations, excitement was in the air like the blizzard of 1967 &1979. 

The city stopped during those snow storms. Last year, Bears Fan’s stopped at any chance they could to discuss the upcoming game,  all over the city,  Monster’s of the Midway.  The Art Institute Lion’s doned the Chicago Bears Helmet’s. 

92 yards for a touchdown at Superbowl XLI, we sat with racing hearts and sweaty palms, with anticipation of a Superbowl celebration.  Well, we all know how it ended, and as the Superbowl weekend kicks into gear, I decided to draw a tribute to a player that has held his own, and held the ball for:  

• Most touchdown returns in a season - (6) (2006, 2007)
• Most touchdowns kick and punt returns in a season - (6) (2007)
• Most touchdown returns as a rookie (6) - (2006)
• Most touchdown returns in one game (2)** - Against St. Louis on 12/11/2006 and Denver Broncos on 11/25/07

As the weekend get’s underway, this sketch, done with a General’s Woodless Graphite HB, merging three of Devin’s famous poses into one 18 x 18 sketch, it will be a Bear’s Superbowl at heart!

This is a finished copy of a bar stool that I auctioned off in 2007.  I decided to repeat the process and share with you as I go along the pictures of how I drew a pencil sketch of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow the one, the only Pirate of the 21st century! Well, I am sure Mark and Annie would have something to say about that.  This piece  had an inlaid piece of jewelry within Jack Sparrows Dreadlocks.

The piece shown is a copy that I turned into a book bag for my mommy, I again produced the stars and celestial effect using photoshop, but the original circle image is what was created on the bar stool  With a gloss finish on the top and a flat black on the legs of the bar stool, the contrast really was quite interesting.

The picture on the right is now floating around Wauconda, Illinois or a near suburb as someone’s ass end is sitting on Johnny’s face drinking rum no doubt, no horror in that ladies!  

In the coming days, I will share with you the beginnings of a serving tray that I am working on with a very similar picture of our beloved Captain Jack Sparrow!
